I made a lunch bag for Hannah today.
Hannah and I went to Just Sew to find "oil cloth" in a cute pattern,
then I used the instructions from tumbling blocks .
I didn't add the batting in between layers
because Hannah and I thought it would be nice
if she could fold it up into a little package
to pack easily into her backpack after lunch.
I added a ribbon to tie it closed,
but it looked lame -
so I cut it off.
I think I'll attach some elastic.
Hannah and I have been looking
for a good messenger-style backpack
for a few years now.
Finally Jena reminded us that she had
a hand-me-down messenger bag from Jessica
(With Jessica's name embroidered on the front).
So Hannah and I explored the local craft store
to find ways to embellish it.
This is how it turned out
We found a great stencil and some fabric spray paint -
which oversprayed when I forgot to put the protective paper around the edges
the second time I sprayed it. :o(
And we found some sparkly crystal brads
which Hannah placed here and there
on the berry sprayaround the bird.
And of course, a bow to hide the embroidered name.
We like it.
Some really fantastic news -
Dan's brother Matt and his family
were sealed in the Washington DC temple last Saturday!
A very exciting day.
Dan went to DC to be with them.
On my mind . . .
Will Elder Baker be transferred from Eilenburg on Monday,
Or will he stay there?
Will Elder Owen still be his companion,
or will he have a new companion?
I'll know Monday morning.
It's too long to wait.

Fun craft projects! Thanks for the picture of their family! I love the one-sock-up and one-sock-down :)
I'm surprised one sock is down- Maddie must not have had time to pull it up. She likes her socks hiked up as far as they go :)
Also, I love that lunch bag! So great :)
